Huge Harry Potter Plot Hole Solved By George Weasley

Now there are a lot of Harry Potter plot holes (how can we expect J.K Rowling to write every part of such a complex world?), but this one will really make you say ‘Oh shit, yeah’.

Warner Bros. Pictures

Did you ever wonder why, if Fred and George Weasley had the Marauders Map, they did not question Peter Pettigrew sleeping in Ron’s bed when he was under the Animagus spell disguised as Ron’s rat Scabbers?

Rupert Grint unfortunately couldn’t answer the question, but said ‘that’s a good point’, when the Huffington Post suggested that Ron was going to bed with Pettigrew every night.

Thankfully Oliver Phelps, who played George in the film series, had a wonderful theory about it.

Phelps said to the Huffington Post:

Maybe it’s a boo in the family that no one talks of. ‘Who’s this Peter bloke?’

Maybe it was an unspoken word in the Weasley’s family.

He added that Ron’s romance with fellow Gryffindor and know-it-all Hermione was probably a surprise as a result:

When it came out that he got with Hermione, they were like, ‘Oh.’

So the progressive Weasley family were just letting 11-year-old Ron spend all his time with Wormtail.

To be fair, Pettigrew helped create the Marauders Map so maybe he created a magic loophole to disguise himself all that time.
